Restart the computer
We usually do not shut down our system and leave it just by choosing "standby" "Sleep" or in "hibernation" mode. A fresh start to a computer makes every application get ready to work from scratch. Properly shutdown and restart your systems once and again connect to Garmin Express to download the required update.

Check if Garmin installer is blocked.
If the Garmin installer is not launching; chances are there that it got blocked on your system and Garmin won’t update then. Following learn how to check and unblock it:

·        Right-click the downloaded Garmin Express Installer file on your computer.
·        Click on "Properties" option.

·        If you see the "Unblock button" it means it has been blocked, click on it to "Unblock".

·        Click OK.
Disable Activated Anti Virus
Although the anti-virus application, pop-up blocker or firewalls installed on Personal computers doesn't interfere with Garmin Express (not considering the Office P.C's). On, hit and trial basis try deactivating such working security software temporarily and connect with Garmin Express.

Avoid using Public Wi-Fi
Public Wi-Fi will never provide the required bandwidth to download and install Garmin map updates. Moreover using public Wi-Fi are not counted a safe option while logging in to any personal account on any application.

GPS device is connected well
Make sure your GPS device is connected properly with your laptop or Mac via USB. Check the USB cable is not cracked or having loose ends. Some people make a silly mistake to connect the device with Monitor instead of CPU when working with their desktops.

Uninstall the Garmin Express
Uninstall and Reinstall the Garmin express version on your system. The old version of the application may get some corrupted files which could be the reason of failure in downloading or installing the Garmin updates.
